Afterwards, visit to the Museum of Antiquities, which has original exhibits, murals, “Buddha in Nirvana” of Kushan and Greco-Bactrian era, and much more. Then – visit to the Tajik Botanical Garden with the samples of Tajik nature and architecture. Dinner.
After breakfast, visit to the city of Hissar. A visit to the fortress of XVII century. Visit to the Kukhna madrasah of XVI century, and to Nav madrasah of XVIII century. Visit to the museum of national art. Also, visit to the mausoleum of XVI century and the mosque.
Drive to Penjikent through the Varzob, Fann Darya and Zerafshan river valleys (6-7 hours drive), acquaintance with the rich mountain nature, photography. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at the guest house.
Visit to the National Museum of Rudaki. Visit to the ruins of the ancient city of Penjikent, burned by the Arabs in the VIII century, and visit to the ruins of the city of Sarazm (5500 years) and the museums near the excavations. Acquaintance to the nature of the valley and the oriental market.
Departure to the city of Khujand through the Shahristan Pass (3337 m), or through a tunnel of the same name (5 km). On the way, you can enjoy the views of rich nature. Also, on the way – visit to the Mazari Sharif mausoleum (XIII c.), a tour of the historic Istaravshan (2500 years), Shahri-Kuhna, Kuk Gumbaz madrasah, Hauzisangin mosque (XIX century), the mausoleum of Hazrat Shoh, Moug Fortress, which was destroyed by Alexander the Great (restored nowadays). Overnight in Khujand at the “Huseyndzhon” guest house.
Explore the city of Khujand, whose history is connected with the name of Alexander the Great, and which was called in those days as “Alexandria Eskhata”. Visit to the Citadel of X century, part of which was reconstructed nowadays. Also, visit to the Regional Archaeological Museum. Free walk through the “Panjshanbe” market – one of the largest markets in Tajikistan, also walk to the ensemble of Sheikh Muslihiddin (mausoleum of XIV century, minaret of XIX century, the mosque).
Breakfast. Afterwards – departure to the Tajik-Uzbek border Oybek, then to Bekabad, Uzbekistan.
